McCALL | WE MUST FOCUS ON THE JOB IN HAND

20 April 2017

Bantams boss Stuart McCall says City must focus on getting the job done in their final home league fixture of the regular campaign against AFC Wimbledon this Saturday (22 April 2017).

McCall's men go into the encounter at the Northern Commercials Stadium knowing that one point from their last two league fixtures will seal a spot in the end-of-season play-offs.

The City chief has been keen for his players to move on quickly from Monday's defeat at the hands of champions Sheffield United, and gaining all three points against the Dons at the weekend would be just the right tonic.

McCall said: "This group has done terrifically well to put us in the position we currently find ourselves in.

"The aim now is to finish the season strongly and hopefully end with some success.

"We know that things can change quickly in football.

"We needed four points (for the play-offs) going into the Sheffield United game. We still needed those four points after the game, but two hours later we only needed one point despite not playing.

"We can only focus on ourselves though.

"If it takes a ninetieth-minute winner like it did when we played Wimbledon earlier this season, then we all have to be ready for that.

"We hope this won’t be our last match at home this season but we have to take care of business first and foremost.

"We must maintain our focus and professionalism throughout the game Saturday. We also want to maintain the same home form we have shown throughout this season, in particular the last four matches which we have won."
