A beaming Phil Parkinson was bursting with pride after his City side pulled off one of the biggest cup shocks in recent years by defeating Premiership giants Arsenal on penalties to reach the final four of the Capital One Cup in front of a bumper Coral Windows Stadium crowd.
Nearly 24,000 packed into Valley Parade to see Parkinson's men unbelievably overcome a star-studded Arsenal line up, including the likes of Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski, 3-2 in a dramatic shoot-out.
The truly memorable result fires City into the Capital One Cup Semi-Finals for the first time ever in the club's history - making them the first fourth-tier side to reach this stage of the competition since Wycombe Wanderers in the 2006/07 season.
The penalty victory was also incredibly City's NINTH shoot-out win in a row.
Despite the sensational win coming via penalties, however, Parkinson was keen to make sure that the manner of victory didn't detract from the superb performance levels of his players against Arsenal's internationals.
With City only a few minutes away from winning it in normal time until Thomas Vermaelen's late equaliser, Parkinson's feels his side's performance made them worthy of victory.
Parkinson said: "The lads were unbelievable tonight."
"The discipline and effort of the players was first-class.
"Arsenal played their best team tonight and we've come within three minutes of beating them in normal time. The talk after the game might be about the penalty shoot-out win and our run of penalty victories, but that shouldn't take anything away from the lads' performance.
"I thought they were all unbelievable tonight.
"We suffered the blow of conceding late on, but the lads dug deep again to get us through extra-time. We asked a lot of the players tonight but they produced.
"I don't think the enormity of their achievement will hit home straight away. They may have to look at the headlines a few times to believe it.
"There is a big gulf between the two teams in terms of finances and league placings.
"Arsenal have some world-class players, they are an outstanding side and they played some of their very best players, but the lads stuck to their jobs superbly all night.
"I have to give our players so much credit tonight.
"It was a big, big performance from the lads in front of a full stadium and a tremendous atmosphere.
"This result means everything to us, that's the players, management and staff. We want to try and put Bradford City back on the map for the right things, and nights like tonight will certainly help do that.
"The people of this city have been superb with the club, their support tonight was magnificent, and they deserve a team they can be proud of. I believe we are getting there with that one."
