BLACKPOOL GAME TO BE REARRANGED

5 October 2015

The football club can confirm that this Saturday's (10 October 2015) Sky Bet League 1 fixture against Blackpool at the Coral Windows Stadium will now be rearranged due to international call-ups within the Bantams first team squad.

City defender Rory McArdle has been drafted into Northern Ireland's squad this Monday for their forthcoming UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying double-header with Greece and Finland due to injuries within the Irish camp.

McArdle's inclusion in the Northern Ireland squad now means City have four players out on international duty this week following earlier call ups for Reece Burke (England Under 20s), James Meredith (Australia) and Lee Evans (Wales Under 21s).

Football League rules dictate that a club can postpone a league fixture if three or more of their squad receives call-ups during a period of international fixtures.

Burke's call up is not included in City's quota of three as his loan move from West Ham United is classed as a 'Youth Loan' but McArdle's involvement with Northern Ireland, along with Evans and Meredith's earlier call ups, means the Bantams now have three recognised internationals within their squad.

Following McArdle's call up this Monday, The Football League have now officially confirmed that this Saturday's fixture will be postponed and rearranged for a later date.

No new date has been confirmed for this outstanding fixture. The club will endeavour to update supporters with further details in due course.
