City keeper Jon McLaughlin claimed a clean sheet as Great Britain's footballers earnt a crucial 1 - 0 victory over host nation Serbia at the World Student Games.

The 21 year old is in the GB squad for the illustrious university competiton that is currently taking place in Belgrade.

The win over the Serbians on Thursday leaves Great Britain with 4 points from their first two games after McLaughlin and his team mates secured a 2 - 2 draw with Mexico in their opening fixture.

Great Britain's next match is against Ghana on Saturday 4th July.

Given the round robin format of the tournament, it is likely McLaughlin could play a minimum of 6 matches at the Student Games and therefore could rule him out of first two weeks of pre-season training.

Bantams manager Stuart McCall gave his blessing to McLaughlin's trip to Belgrade when the squad was announced back in mid-June as he feels the City keeper will come back to the club match sharp.
